First Look: The Fourth, New American in Union Square

First Look

Previews of new menus around NYC.

Note: First Looks give previews of new dishes, drinks, and menus we're curious about. Since they are arranged photo shoots and interviews with restaurants, we do not make critical evaluations or recommendations.

The Fourth recently opened in Union Square from the team behind neighborhood favorites Tocqueville and 15 East. While those two restaurants offer seasonally-driven new American and high class sushi respectively, The Fourth is described as an "American brasserie" and offers a menu that is broader and more affordable.

Salads, charcuterie plates, and pastas find a home next to a dry aged hamburger, steaks, and seafood dishes. Many of the dishes are designed for communal eating, reflected by the long communal table in the downstairs dining room.

Take a look at some of the menu offerings in the slideshow above.
