Essential techniques, recipes, and more!

The scones at Locanda Verde are more akin to biscuits than traditional scones when it comes to texture. But there's nothing wrong with that. They're rich with butter just flaky enough, and outfitted with a sugar-speckled rim—impossible to turn down when still warm from the oven. Summer brings strawberry and sour cherry scones, but winter? Blood orange. It comes in the form of sweet marmalade smeared over the surface and concentrated in center.

Other seasonal goodies to look out for: pumpkin cake doughnuts, apple breakfast pies (similar to these), and thick slices of cranberry bread.
