In this great city of ours, one could eat a different sandwich every day of the year—so that's what we'll do. Here's A Sandwich a Day, our daily look at sandwiches around New York. Got a sandwich we should check out? Let us know. —The Mgmt.
The sandwiches at Sergimmo Salumeria are an ode to the Italian classic sandwich. If you're looking for a slight twist on the usual, take a bite out of the Lazio Panini ($9). Thinly sliced layers of smoky, spicy chorizo make up the heart of this sandwich, while snappy pieces of provolone lace the meat with a mild buttery flavor. When paired with Sergimmo's balsamic dressing, the spread of black olives adds a surprisingly sweet cap to an otherwise salty sandwich filling. A handful of greens tops it all off with a little freshness before getting packed into a perfectly springy and crusty baguette.
