Tips and tricks for making the best sandwiches at home.
When I had ordered the butternut squash fritters on a roll ($8), one of the servers at Runner & Stone remarked that I was about to have a great day.
It turns out she was right. The fritters are just barely crispy on the outside, giving way to a light and sweet butternut squash purée within. It's a balancing act of sweet and savory, soft and crispy, all enhanced by housemade ricotta and some arugula on the chewy roll. The sandwich is only available on the lunch menu and will likely change with the seasons, so plan your visit to Runner & Stone accordingly.
