Tips and tricks for making the best sandwiches at home.
On Veselka's Reuben ($12.95), a manageable amount of thinly sliced Krakovska, a lightly smoked sausage not unlike bologna or mortadella, replaces the traditional mountain of corned beef. Veselka gets theirs from nearby J. Baczynsky's Meat Market, and then adds the usual suspects of sauerkraut and Russian dressing. Swiss cheese shows up in a double dose and anchors everything to two pieces of seeded seven grain bread.
It's a cheesy, vinegary, and porky take on the classic. Not as weighty as some others, and just as satisfying.
