In this great city of ours, one could eat a different sandwich every day of the year—so that's what we'll do. Here's A Sandwich a Day, our daily look at sandwiches around New York. Got a sandwich we should check out? Let us know. —The Mgmt.

Never mind that a New York sandwich has tomatoes on it in January. The feta, tomato, and cubanelle pepper ($6.99) from Simit and Smith makes it work. The ingredients are all carefully balanced inside the traditional ring-shaped simit, which makes for easier eating than a like-minded bagel sandwich.
This vegetarian sandwich lacks the heft of the salmon simit we had earlier, but fresh salty feta and the classic simit crunch make this a suitable lunch. And any sandwich that sneaks in those sweet crunchy peppers with just a little heat is a good thing in my book.
