Tips and tricks for making the best sandwiches at home.
We were not prepared to love the Pollo Sandwich ($10) at Sullivan Street Bakery Chelsea so much. But we fell hard and fast. That sandwich was gone in minutes.
On the first bite, we marveled at the extremely moist pulled chicken piled on top of earthy wheat bread; a handful of mesclun greens and a touch of mayo rounded out the sandwich. However, in the end, it was the pickled veggies (cabbage leaves and thin radish slices) that ended up stealing the show. They left us with a little cleansing heat on our tongues, reminiscent of the pickled ginger you eat in a sushi meal.
Life is sweet when an old favorite food spot can still surprise you with exciting new menu items. Sullivan Street Bakery, you have our attention yet again.
