The newest addition to the dessert menu at Soba Tott is called Matcha Mousse ($7). But like many Japanese sweets, names can be deceiving. This is more jelly-like than a mousse with a light, almost foamy texture. The matcha is bold, and the near bitterness is tempered with sweet whipped cream and strawberries. At the base is thin layer of sponge cake and another of mashed auzki beans—get it all in one bite! And don't forget—even though it comes with vanilla ice cream, you could always ask to substitute green tea ice cream for a double dose.
