A Sandwich a Day: Grilled Brie and Prosciutto at Jack & Nellie's in Forest Hills
A new sandwich every day.
In this great city of ours, one could eat a different sandwich every day of the year—so that's what we'll do. Here's A Sandwich a Day, our daily look at sandwiches around New York. Got a sandwich we should check out? Let us know. —The Mgmt.

"Grilled" may be a misleading way to describe this gooey-cheese-meets-salty-pork sandwich at Jack & Nellie's, a new wine and small plates bar in Forest Hills. There's nothing pressed and melty it, but it's still a worthy bite for a neighborhood that could use more grown-up places to eat like this.
For $8 you'll get a snack-portioned sandwich of pleasantly oily herb-flecked focaccia, the eponymous ingredients, and a generous schmear of sweet fig jam to balance the savory oiliness of it all. It'd all be improved by actual grilling—that focaccia would be killer warm—but as-is there's a lot to enjoy in simple ingredients with bold flavors done well. If you have an especially bold appetite, share this sandwich before pizza at Nick's across the street.
