Market Scene: Grapes, Eggplant, Tomatoes and More at the Union Square Greenmarket

In season now: tomatoes, eggplant, stone fruit, some strawberries and blueberries, green beans (yellow ones, too!), romano beans, cranberry beans, edamame, potatoes, fresh herbs, new apples and pears, and plenty more.
In season soon: More apples and pears, more eggplant, more grapes, more winter squash.

Lots of summer produce—tomatoes, peaches, zucchini—are still around, so you're welcome to pretend that fall isn't just around the corner. But it'll be hard since pumpkins and other winter squash have already started popping up around the market. Take a stroll through the market in the slideshow, and then do so in real life!

The Union Square Greenmarket is open on the North and West sides of Union Square Park every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
