A Sandwich a Day: Lamb Bacon and Egg at Parish Hall in Williamsburg

A Sandwich a Day

A new sandwich every day.

In this great city of ours, one could eat a different sandwich every day of the year--so that's what we'll do. Here's A Sandwich a Day, our daily look at sandwiches around New York. Got a sandwich we should check out? Let us know. --The Mgmt

Parish Hall is the serene counterpoint to Williamsburg brunch hotspot Egg. It focuses heavily on local ingredients, reflected in a seasonal and vegetable-dense menu. True to form, there is an enticing array of salads, but also a serious selection of sandwiches to rival it.

The weekend brunch menu brings out a slew of egg-based options, and Parish Hall's take on a classic bacon and egg is particularly tasty. It goes without saying that the highlight of their lamb bacon and egg sandwich ($11) is the bacon, which they cure in house. It's smoky, hearty, and borderline addictive. The scrambled eggs provide a nice counterpoint, albeit a spectacularly messy one. Additional accoutrements of spring onions and mustard are hardly discernable, but perhaps it's the thought that counts.
