Tips and tricks for making the best sandwiches at home.
There's so much pleasure in a BLT. This simple combination of ingredients is such a good menu standby, and a useful barometer of the overall quality of a sandwich shop. The rendition (6.95) at newly-opened TasteBuds lies within sight of top-notch. The bacon was chewy-crisp and smoky, the tomato was ripe (though will probably be better in a month), and the reb bibb lettuce was undeniably fresh. Sourdough bread, admittedly cut a bit too thick, came slathered with smoked paprika mayonnaise from Empire Mayonnaise, an excellent addition to the warm and already smoky bacon. It's a sandwich within sight of BLT greatness; we just wish the bread was slightly thinner.
