While pudding, plain and straight-up, forms the core of the menu at Puddin' on St. Marks, I find myself leaning more and more towards the housemade cakes and cheesecakes on return visits. (They all include a healthy dose of pudding as well.) On a recent visit I scored the first slice of Clio's Key Lime Cheesecake ($5). It's chubby little number with a thick graham cracker crust and classic cheesecake filling. The key lime element comes from a layer of tart, fresh key lime pudding that holds up well when sliced, more akin to a custard in texture. It's polished with ploofs of whipped cream and key lime zest—you can't go wrong with this one.
