The banana puddings from bakeries like Sugar Sweet Sunshine, Magnolia's, and Buttercup Bake Shop fall in the same basic format: fresh banana slices and layers of Nilla Wafers softened by sweet and plush vanilla pudding. I could eat that stuff every day of the week. But Miss Lily's Banana Pudding ($6) is slightly different. Yes, there are banana slices and plenty of Nilla Wafers, but this pudding parts ways when it comes to the pudding. Instead of that easy to love, almost-from-the-box-esque type of pudding, Miss Lily's is less fluffy and sweet, and comes with actual bananas blended into the vanilla pudding. It's more dense, and and tastes more pure, a grown-up banana pudding if you will. And luckily there's enough stomach space for both types.
