Why do the French hate us, asks Dennis Leary. "Because they gave us the croissant, and we turned it into the croissandwich." But if the French tasted the tiny croissants ($1.25) at Ceci Cela (which, by the way, won our croissant taste test by a landslide), they might change their minds.

These two- or three-bite croissant sandwiches make the perfect snack: buttery, crisp, and slightly sweet, a croissant fix without that "I just ate half a stick of butter" feeling. For your choice of fillings, stick with fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, tomato, and basil. It's not the best caprese + pork assembly on earth, but the ingredients are all fresh and well-balanced, and a buttery croissant perfectly replaces the traditional olive oil drizzle.
