Tips and tricks for making the best sandwiches at home.
I've been on something of a chicken sandwich kick of late, and between this and the super-moist rotisserie chicken at Foragers City Grocer, I've been treated pretty well. The Pulled Chicken ($6.95) at Harissa Cafe isn't as majestically moist as that chicken with a pedigree, but it does a bang-up job at satisfying your chicken-and-greens-on-bread cravings.
The harissa mustard that lightly dresses the shredded chicken is downright addictive—not too hot, but just tantalizing enough to keep you coming back for more. Like its fattier, lambier menu neighbor, the bread for this sandwich is a foot-long baguette from Balthazar Bakery. Crisp, nicely flavored fries come included in distressing quantities (I'd hazard a pound or more). It's a good sandwich turned into an amazing budget deal.
