BEER!

We love it. And you've voted. See which is the best American beer city.

On a dusty stretch of Third Avenue in Gowanus, Draft Barn has been serving some seriously impressive suds (they have over 250 beers!) and unpretentious Eastern European grub. With sister locations in Sheepshead Bay and Brighton Beach, this outer Brooklyn mini-empire has been attracting locals and intrepid visitors alike looking for a fun beer hall setting. Did I mention this place is great for groups?

Recently we stopped in to try their beer croutons ($3). That was 72-hours ago and we are still going through withdrawal from this salty snack. These brown bread chunks are deep-fried for a chewy bite—though they are not at all greasy—and served toasty warm. The best part? The beer croutons are a "secret" item not found on the menu. So go ahead and soak up some cool, "in the know" points when you casually order them.
