A Sandwich A Day: Media Noche, Margon
A new sandwich every day.
In this great city of ours, one could eat a different sandwich every day of the year—so that's what we'll do. Here's A Sandwich a Day, our daily look at sandwiches around New York. Got a sandwich we should check out? Let us know. —The Mgmt.

The Media Noche ($4) at Margon is similar to their Cuban sandwich, without the pernil and salami: it's got pickles, mayo, mustard, swiss cheese and ham. What really sets it apart is the bread. It's on a sweet potato bread, something like a Cuban brioche, especially good after its turn on Margon's sandwich press.
A little smaller than the Cuban (and much cheaper at four bucks), a media noche is traditionally a midnight snack, but it's sizeable enough for a working lunch. Which is good, because Margon isn't open at midnight.
