A Sandwich A Day: Egg Sandwich at Bluebird Sky
A new sandwich every day.
In this great city of ours, one could eat a different sandwich every day of the year—so that's what we'll do. Here's A Sandwich a Day, our daily look at sandwiches around New York. Got a sandwich we should check out? Let us know. —The Mgmt.

I've been meaning to grab breakfast at Bluebird Sky Cafe ever since reading Ashley Muir Bruhn's report this winter, and I'm happy to say that the Egg Sandwich ($5.25) was every good as I expected. I opted for ham and Gruyere; the ham was thick-cut and super-smoky and lent flavor to the soft mass of eggs (seriously, you could take it out of the bread and call it an omelet); the cheese is ample and soft and melty, enough that you really get its distinctive Gruyere sweetness. It's all on a crisp Grandaisy loaf that holds it just right.
