Learn the step-by-step process of making the cheese in this hands-on class, as well as the history of mozzarella. All Star Sandwich Festival-Governor's Island
Saturday July 23, 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm Yep, we're plugging our own event! Come eat sandwiches assembled from Torrisi, Locanda Verde, Taim, Gramercy Tavern, and more; there'll be all sorts of beer and wine to wash it down. For dessert, you'll find the Big Gay Ice Cream Truck and People's Pops. You'll also be able to meet Ed Levine, the rest of the SE crew, and many of the columnists you love reading every week. The 6th Annual Great Hot Dog Cookoff

Hudson Terrace Beer & BBQ Festival

Daisy Flour Pie Contest
Saturday July 23, 4 p.m. The Brooklyn Kitchen is having a tasty pie competition! All proceeds will go to the Greenpoint Soup Kitchen and Food Pantry. Want to compete? $5 to enter, and you get to show off your flaky crusts and gooey fillings to a panel of distinguished judges. Best Grilled Sandwich in Brooklyn competition
Sunday July 24 Three chefs vie for the title of "Best Grilled Sandwich Chef in Brooklyn" at an outdoor competition in The Amazing Garden (Carroll St. & Columbia St.) Watch Evan Hanczor of Egg, Ashley Fulk of Trestle on Tenth and "Top Chef", and Alex Sorenson, formerly of Mas (Farmhouse) and Colonie, go head-to-head on coal and gas-fired grills. Ticketholders are invited to sample offerings from all three chefs. Tickets $20; proceeds go to The Amazing Garden, a volunteer-run community garden in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn. Kings County Cookout

Fort Greene Park FREE Concert Vendors
Tuesday July 26, 6:00 p.m. - 9:00p.m. On July 26th, Charles Bradley & The Menahan Street Band, along with Beans and DJ Todd-O-Phonic Todd, are playing a free concert at Fort Greene Park.
