In this great city of ours, one could eat a different sandwich every day of the year—so that's what we'll do. Here's A Sandwich a Day, our daily look at sandwiches around New York. Got a sandwich we should check out? Let us know. —The Mgmt.

The Broccoli Rabe in the Faicco's Sausage & Broccoli Rabe ($10) sandwich at Frankies 17 isn't just a green accent; it's really the starring ingredient of the sandwich. But that's okay by us. It's a lot of rabe, sure, but sautéed in olive oil and garlic and crushed red pepper, it's good enough that I'm tempted to pull it out and eat it on its own. On thin, chewy rosemary bread from Grandaisy Bakery, with seared pork sausage from Faicco's Pork Store, it's a strong pairing with every ingredient done right. (Frankies 17 isn't open for lunch Monday through Thursday these days; but that's just one more reason to love Friday, when they are. And hey, dinner can be sandwich time, too.)
