The New Amsterdam Market is certainly nothing new to Serious Eats, but we figured it was due time to re-visit—and take a look at the awesome prepared foods you can eat there.
Every Sunday in season, from 11am to 4pm, a huge variety of local vendors set up shop by the old Fulton Fish Market, just a hop and a skip from South Street Seaport in lower Manhattan. Vendors change on a weekly basis, but you can always check the upcoming week's lineup here.
We'll let the photos speak for themselves, but aside from the excellent array of foodstuffs, the New Amsterdam market was a pleasure to peruse: few long lines, plenty of space, and a sheltered space to keep out the sun. Not that we don't love all outdoor markets here at Serious Eats, but compared to some of the chaos out there, this is certainly a pleasant way to eat your way through your Sunday afternoon.
