Simple, tasty, and cheap, buns are just about the perfect lunch, and we've been eating as many as we have the stomach space for. Previously we covered the creamy pumpkin bun from Golden Steamer; but more recently, we discovered a new favorite, the Vietnamese (Yuenan) bun ($1.00) from the deli station in Deluxe Food Market (a place that strangely has a different name, De Chang, in Chinese).

Known as Banh Bao in Vietnam and Tai Pao in Hong Kong, the bun is really easy to spot among other buns because of its gigantic size. You find inside the bun everything you need for a substantial lunch: a chunk of juicy ground pork, half a hard-boiled egg, a piece of Chinese sausage, and mushroom slices. Though the combination might sound strange, the flavors work well together; and for one dollar, you've got a whole lunch covered—protein and carbs, meat and veggies. What could be a better deal?
