A Sandwich A Day: Brie Sandwich at Margot Patisserie

A Sandwich a Day

A new sandwich every day.

In this great city of ours, one could eat a different sandwich every day of the year—so that's what we'll do. Here's A Sandwich a Day, our daily look at sandwiches around New York. Got a sandwich we should check out? Let us know. —The Mgmt.

I've been scouting out bakeries for the last few weeks, and where there are baguettes, and there almost always brie sandwiches. I was quite happy with this little number from Margot Patisserie ($6): the baguette was airy-middled and chewy-crusted, if not quite crackly-crisp, and worked well as a sandwich vehicle. Inside, creamy brie meets salted butter; thin tomato slices are moist, not mealy; the fresh mesclun tastes of spring. A classic, but a classic done right.
