In this great city of ours, one could eat a different sandwich every day of the year—so that's what we'll do. Here's A Sandwich a Day, our daily look at sandwiches around New York. Got a sandwich we should check out? Let us know. —The Mgmt.
Wine bar Terroir's lively food menu declares they serve "The Best Panini and Sandwich in All of New York City"; and while that may be a bit of a tall claim, they are very fine sandwiches indeed. On the vegetarain side, we love the Grilled Radicchio ($11); a study in perfect proportion, it layers charred-up pieces of radicchio, slender, even slices of smoked mozzarella, and red peppers between bread that's crusty but slim, just a light crunch over the ingredient core. Bitter is balanced with creamy, soft with crunchy; there's a lot going on in this slender sandwich.
