While smoked fish is a pretty standard breakfast offering in New York, the open-faced smoked trout ($15) sandwich at Joseph Leonard is different enough to be interesting: with the cream cheese are firm flakes of fish, incredibly fresh-tasting horseradish, and chopped hard boiled egg, along with capers and pickled red onion.
