A Sandwich A Day: Casa della Mozzarella's Combo
A new sandwich every day.
In this great city of ours, one could eat a different sandwich every day of the year—so that's what we'll do. Here's A Sandwich a Day, our daily look at sandwiches around New York. Got a sandwich we should check out? Let us know. —The Mgmt.

Better known for the homemade cheese that is their namesake, Casa della Mozarella also serves up some tasty sandwiches. Order the "Combo" ($8.00): prosciutto, mild mortadella, oily, sweet soppresatta, and two thick slices of moist mozzarella piled high between soft, lightly seeded bread from the local Addeo bakery. Although the oil and vinegar was inconsistently applied, it was nice when it popped up; bit for bite, the soppresatta's flavor proved dominant. (And there's nothing wrong with that.)
