Tips and tricks for making the best sandwiches at home.
You wouldn't guess given its name, but Island Burgers and Shakes serves over sixty types of churascos, or grilled chicken breast sandwiches. Any menu of this size can get overwhelming, but you won't go wrong ordering the relatively simple Frog sandwich ($9.50). While the standard two grilled chicken breasts per sandwich may seem like overkill for those of us not training for an Iron Man, they were flavorful, not at all dry, and went well with the toppings.
And the boursin-bacon topping is definitely the key to this sandwich. The bacon adds a nice smoky crunch while the boursin is mild, creamy, and slightly herby. The seeded bun is the same kind that they use for their burgers, and it was particularly soft and fresh. Onions, pickles, and tomatoes come gratis on the side; the milkshake is up to you.
