Falai Panetteria offers two turnovers ($3), both of which are excellent. The magic is in the endless layers of butter-rich and flaky crust, but also in the fillings. Apple is paired with cinnamon (pictured above) and fresh pears are covered with a gloss of molten dark chocolate. Come early enough for a fresh batch, and your morning is set. Have it to go, or to stay with a quick espresso. If you're very lucky, the chocolate will still be gooey and melted, perhaps even oozing out on that initial bite. Glorious!
