In this great city of ours, one could eat a different sandwich every day of the year—so that's what we'll do. Here's A Sandwich a Day, our daily look at sandwiches around New York. Got a sandwich we should check out? Let us know. —The Mgmt.

Crosby Connection can't even be classified as a hole in the wall. No, this migratory sandwich shop (former locations include the Bleecker Street Theater and Parisi Bakery on Elizabeth Street) has now settled down with Eat My Chocolate on Mulberry Street, where chocolates are paired with sandwiches for a $9 lunch special.

My #12, Smoked Gouda and Ham ($7) was clean-cut, wholesome, and solidly satisfying: the all-around nice guy of sandwiches. Black Forest Ham is piled on thick, although what you taste most is the creamy crumbles of smoky Gouda. A few slivers of green apple and some fresh dill keep things interesting, but what you see is what you get: in this case, a filling lunch.
