In this great city of ours, one could eat a different sandwich every day of the year—so that's what we'll do. Here's A Sandwich a Day, our daily look at sandwiches around New York. Got a sandwich we should check out? Let us know. —The Mgmt.

It's not a spicy, smoky-sweet chorizo you'll find in the chorizo sandwich (also listed as "sausage sandwich"; $3.95) at El Gran Castillo de Jagua. In fact, tasting of well-salted, juicy meat, paired with oil-griddled onions and green peppers, it reminded me of nothing so much as the sort of greasy sausage sandwiches you'd get at the boardwalk or the county fair. Still, it's a satisfying mouthful, a sizable meal, and, at under four bucks, a fine deal to boot.
