Thanksgiving may be over, but I've still got an appetite for pumpkin sweets. For a snack today? A petite 5.5 ounce jar of Pumpkin Yogurt from White Cow Dairy up in East Otto, New York. Their full-fat yogurts are the best, impossibly creamy and tangy all at once. Bits of fresh cooked pumpkin are blended in the yogurt, along with plenty of cinnamon and a maple sugar blend. Maple also makes an appearance in their serving of custard, an eggy and pudding-like creation with a bare touch of sea salt. Nutmeg and vanilla beans are classic custard companions, and employed in equal balance. Give it a good stir before you devour; the fragrant black speckles of vanilla beans tend to settle at the bottom. White Cow Dairy can be found at many shops upstate in Buffalo, or in Manhattan at Murray's Cheese for $2.99 a jar.
