In this great city of ours, one could eat a different sandwich every day of the year—so that's what we'll do. Here's A Sandwich a Day, our daily look at sandwiches around New York. Got a sandwich we should check out? Let us know. —The Mgmt.
Meet Fat Jimmy ($9.25), from Wogies (pronounced woah-jees), a West Village spot known for its cheesesteaks. Jimmy is a meaty guy (chopped steak, onions, and peppers), and he has serious love handles (chili-soaked fries) that spill out above his buns. It's the smoky spice of his chili sauce that makes him a little more lovable. And while he may be a bit unkempt when you first look at him, he's actually really beautiful on the inside. What you see is what you get—there are few surprises from this steak-chili-French Fry sandwich. And we're not quite sure what the beans were doing there. But if super-sloppy sandwiches are your thing, give him a try.
