La Maison du Chocolat offers two types of hot chocolate. The first is made with milk chocolate, sweet and vanilla-kissed, but it is the latter, the Caracas, which best highlights their chocolate in liquid form. It's a costly affair at $8 a serving, and though I had mine to go, this is best enjoyed in the back cafe where the creamy, thick drink is presented in beautiful china and accompanied by a square of chocolate... as if the the hot chocolate alone were not rich enough! A cloud of fresh whipped cream tops off this vibrant and deep concoction with only a hint of sweetness.
