When it gets too hot and I'm scared of running my air conditioning bill too high, I head to the West Village. Right off the Christopher Street entrance is a kiosk by the name of Organicoa, and during the summer, there's one thing you need to drink there, the Frocoa ($5). Cheesy name, but all is forgiven with a few sips of the icy, blended frozen cocoa drink made with chocolate syrup from Holy Kakow. Think of the espresso granite from Joe's, only chocolate instead of espresso.
Shavings of chocolate lace each sip, little sweet licks melting on your tongue. But don't take your time—it melts quick as you imagine, and it's no fun drinking a cup of room temperature Frocoa.
