In this great city of ours, one could eat a different sandwich every day of the year—so that's what we'll do. Here's A Sandwich a Day, our daily look at sandwiches around New York. Got a sandwich we should check out? Let us know. —The Mgmt.
The Good Enough to Eat Turkey Club is not just good enough, it's the best. It's my favorite club sandwich served anywhere, never mind in New York City. What causes one turkey club, a relatively simple sandwich, to stand out over another? In this case it's the bread, which is a central component as three slices are used. Good Enough to Eat makes their own onion dill white bread in house. The dill adds a subtle touch of flavor, and although the pieces are toasted, they still manage to stay light and soft with a thin crisp outer layer and a pillowy interior. The turkey is high quality and thickly sliced, so it stands up well to the thick yet crispy bacon.
At $12.00 during lunch and $13.50 for dinner (plus tax), this sandwich is pricier than the sandwiches normally featured in A Sandwich a Day, but the club makes a filling meal (along with the gargantuan helping of macaroni salad that comes on the plate).
