In this great city of ours, one could eat a different sandwich every day of the year—so that's what we'll do. Here's A Sandwich a Day, our daily look at sandwiches around New York. Got a sandwich we should check out? Let us know. —The Mgmt.
Sandwich options at Beach Street Eatery are almost too many to make sense of, but focus your attention on the ones made to order, such as the Skirt Steak Sandwich ($9). Sliced steak is grilled along with green and red bell peppers. Onions, too. And if you'd like, shakes of tabasco and steak sauce (Peter Luger's). Smear on the chimichurri sauce, melt Gruyère on top, and pile into a lightly toasted (and soon to be meat-soaked) ciabatta. Eat while warm. Greasy, belly filling.
Each component isn't particularly special alone—this one is indeed made great by the sum of its parts. Be warned, they operate a bit slowly, and expect a long wait, especially during peak lunch hours.
