I don't think I will ever tired of the endless variations on olive oil cakes, loaves, and madeleines found in the city. At Maialino they come in the form of muffins ($4) during the day, and cake in the evenings. The muffins are petite little numbers, ideal for ordering to go with a morning cup of Four Barrel Coffee. Tender with a sticky moist top, crunchy on the edges. It's one of the heavier takes on olive oil sweets I've seen—positively saturated, soaking in olive oil. A lovely thing, in my book.
