The desserts at Otto, whether or not they include gelato, only seem to get better as new and revised desserts make their rounds. Most appropriate for winter is a deep bowl of polenta budino—cool and pudding-soft, with grains popping through clearly in each spoonful. Make sure your bites include alternating bits of diced poached pears, walnut-gorgonzola crumble, and a snow-white quenelle of creme fraiche gelato. No gimmicks, no tricks—just a few beautiful flavors housed together most wonderfully.
