Only during the holiday season does Balthazar turn out these utterly beautiful Linzer tarts ($5.50). A delicate, crumbly crust made from plenty of ground almonds, a touch of spice and sugar, and egg yolks. The filling? Loose, tart raspberry jam, seeds and all, spilling just a bit over the edges. To top, a quartet of nutty leaf cutouts that, oddly enough, couldn't help but remind me of Eleven Madison Park's logo.
