'Cook One Day: Eat All Week' at the Indian Culinary Center
Sunday, August 9, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., $125 and up You'll prepare a feast of Indian foods to take home and last through the whole week. On the menu: chicken korma, Indian meatballs in a spicy sauce, dal, punjabi rajma (red beans stew), parathas, raita, and seasonal vegetable medley. This class is priced based on how many people you're cooking for, starting at $125 for one.

'Boot Camp: A Taste of Italy' at ICE
Monday, August 10, to Friday, August 14, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., $625 On the first day of class you'll explore fresh pasta and homemade sauces (including lasagna al forno con pesto and gnocchi di patate), then expand to a different regions of Italy each day; some of the dishes you'll prepare include sfogliata di raddichio, polenta con sugo di porri, arista di maiale con rosemarino, frittelle di melanzane, and more!

Wednesday, August 12, 12 p.m., by donation Amy Scherber, author of The Sweeter Side of Amy's Bread, discusses her popular treats and all the exact science that goes into baking. Tea, coffee, water, and sweets from Three Tarts will be served, but guests are welcome to bring their own bagged lunch.

'Exploring Latin American Cuisine: Brazil' at Astor Center
Wednesday, August 12, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., $125 Another session of the Latin American cuisine series kicks off with chef Leticia Moreinos, who explores Brazil's Portuguese, African, and Native Indian influences in cooking. You'll prepare pao de queijo (Brazilian cheese buns), moqueca de piexe (Brazilian fish stew), empadao de frango (Brazilian-style chicken pot pie), and chocolate and coconut brigadeiro.
