'The Do-Ahead Summer Antipasto Party' at the Natural Gourmet
Friday, July 31, 6 to 9:30 p.m., $105 Plenty of dishes are made to be served at room temperature, perfect for the host or hostess who wants to throw a party and actually enjoy it: this menu features mainly-vegetarian, health-conscious dishes. On the menu: golden gazpacho, poached salmon pinwheels, balsamic glazed sauteed fresh corn, caponata, roasted cauliflower and fennel, Tuscan white beans, heirloom tomato caprese, and blackberry sundae parfaits.

'A Downeast Feast' at Astor Center
Saturday, August 1, 12 to 4 p.m., $125 Native Maine chef Carl Raymond, brings New England to the kitchen with plenty of seafood and seasonal summer vegetables. On the menu: downeast clam chowder, Cape Cod crab cakes, Maine baked beans, mini lobster rolls, and Maine blueberry pie à la mode. Dishes will be paired with chilled white wines, courtesy of Astor Center's resident wine expert.

'Favorite Classic French Bistro Dishes' at ICE
Sunday, August 2, 5 to 9:30 p.m., $110 Simple French bistro food from the late 19th century makes a comeback with instructor Jane Brock. On the menu: cold mussel salad with mussel mayonnaise, Coquilles St-Jacques Parisienne (scallops in cream sauce), Noisettes de Porc aux Pruneaux (braised pork with plums), tartes aux framboise (fresh raspberry tarts) and more.
