New Amsterdam Market
Sunday, June 29th, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Twice as large as the market they put on at this same location in December, the New Amsterdam Market returns to the South Street Seaport with over 50 purveyors and advocates of the sustainable food movement. Various breads, foraged foods, milk, honeys, vegetables and meats will be available from great local sources. Admission is free, although there is a $5 suggested donation to efforts that will make the market permanent. Un-Fancy Food Show
Sunday, June 29th, Noon to 6 p.m. Brooklyn's answer to the much more stoic Fancy Food Show, this event takes place at the East River Bar in Billyburg and will feature Bronx Bee Honey, Jasper Hill Farm cheeses, McClure’s Pickles, Sixpoint Craft Ales, and various other items from local purveyors. 97 South 6th Street, Brooklyn; event website
