Video: One of the Most Beautiful Pastrami Sandwiches We've Ever Seen

Chef Will Horowitz of Ducks Eatery spent years piecing together his grandfather's pastrami recipe, but he's not chained to tradition.

He demoed his take on pastrami on rye for Roberto Serrini's Make Me a Sandwich video series, which profiles New York chefs making their dream sandwiches.

Horowitz slices his pastrami thicker than a reasonable man might, and he pairs it with an anchovy-Meyer lemon mustard, a forest of dill, and Japanese cucumbers fermented in buttermilk with rye berries and caraway seeds. The result is, in Serrini's words, "the world's best sandwich."

Vegetarians, look away—this is a testament to the Gospel of Meat, and it is magnificent. Check out the video below and see the rest of the series over on Serrini's Vimeo page. Want to try the sandwich yourself? You can find it on the restaurant's late night menu from around 11:30 p.m. until closing.
