Lina Chavez, the owner of bodega-turned-restaurant Carnitas El Atoradero, is no stranger to hard work. While her new sit-down space has wasted no time in winning over our taste buds, Lina sees just as much foot traffic in the adjoining grocery store, where she still packs three-pound orders of carnitas from a simmering cauldron every weekend.

Managing both businesses at once, she's also earned a reputation for zero-compromise Mexican cooking. Whether she's serving a fresh, simple guacamole or a rich, complex mole poblano, Lina is driven by a desire to share.
