The Feast of San Gennaro, Little Italy's annual celebration of fried foods, carnival games and the Patron Saint of Naples, is back. Our perennial favorites, Rubirosa and Parm, were back again this year, and as usual they have the best food at the fair. Parm didn't disappoint with snacks like char siu pork ribs and eggplant parm mozzarella sticks, while Rubirosa's pizzas were up to their usual standard of thin and crispy excellence, fresh from their on-street wood burning oven. Neighborhood newcomer Italian Food Center also made a strong showing with pizza and stromboli well worth an order. Amidst dozens of vendors hawking the same old tired street fair food, those three stalls offer the best bites for your buck if you're looking to eat well.

But that doesn't mean we don't enjoy the pageantry of some fried Oreos, sausage and peppers, and a man in a giant cannoli costume—sometimes you just have to play along at the county fair. So take a look at the slideshow above for a look at all the festivities, the best of what we ate, and plenty of other deep-fried-things-that-probably-shouldn't-be.
