Slideshow SLIDESHOW: Meet Vendy Awards Rookie Finalist Mysttik Masaala

The Vendy Awards, New York's annual celebration of street food, are hitting Sunset Park in a few weeks. Until then we'll be taking a look at the finalists in their rookie category—new vendors who started cooking on the street just this year. First up: Midtown East newcomer Mysttik Masaala.

Owner Yuvaraaj started the cart to honor his son Rishi, who passed away last year. He specializes in a combination of Indian, Tibetan and Nepali cuisines with dishes ranging from chicken biryani to lamb meatballs to momos. Click on the slideshow above for a closer look at what's coming out of this cart.

Mysttik Masaala parks on the corner of 44th Street and Second Avenue from 11 to 4, then 43rd Street and Second from 4 to 8.

Stay tuned for more Vendy coverage later this week. You can see all the finalists on the Vendy website.
