Cocktail Evening and Summer Concert at the New York Botanical Garden

On Friday nights, the Natural Gourmet Cookery School is transformed into a restaurant (complete with flowers and candlelight) as guest instructors and students from the chef's training program prepare three-course vegetarian dinners for the public. Often, the meal is the final project for a group of soon-to-be graduates, who have been planning the menu for weeks. MOFAD at Summer Streets

The Museum of Food and Drink's exhibit BOOM! The Puffing Gun and the Rise of Breakfast Cereal! will be at Summer Streets in Foley Square. There will also be art installations, performances, and even a rock climbing wall. BOOM! will explain the science behind cereal production, and explore how the cereal industry became the behemoth that it is. The centerpiece of the exhibit will be a fully-functioning puffing gun, a 3,200-pound machine based on technology that revolutionized the cereal industry in the early 1900s, and originally produced puffed cereals like Kix and Cheerios. The Hog Days of Summer (LIC)
