Meet Vendy Awards Rookie Finalist Toum

The Vendy Awards, New York's annual celebration of street food, are hitting Sunset Park in a few weeks. Until then we'll be taking a look at the finalists in their rookie category—new vendors who started cooking on the street just this year. Next up: the Lebanese delight Toum.

Prior to Toum (the name refers to a popular Lebanese garlic sauce), there was no food truck serving up Lebanese cooking in any of the five boroughs. The Brooklynite owners Rodrigue and Christine Chebli decided to change that, opening a truck rather than a brick and mortar. Click on the slideshow above for a closer look at what they're serving.

Toum roams around the city hitting downtown Mondays and Friday, and Midtown on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. They can be found in Dumbo on Thursdays.
