The Vendy Awards, New York's annual celebration of street food, are hitting Sunset Park in a few weeks. Until then we'll be taking a look at the finalists in their rookie category—new vendors who started cooking on the street just this year. Next up: the Thainamese newcomer Sweet Chili.
Sweet Chili is owned by Chef Lisa Fernandes, who you may remember from Top Chef's Season 4 in Chicago. The truck debuted on June 1st with a menu inspired by Thai and Vietnamese cooking. Click on the slideshow above for a closer look at what they're selling.
Sweet Chili roams around the city hitting Midtown on Mondays, Fridays, and alternating Wednesdays. They can be found downtown Tuesday and Thursday, and out at Industry City on the alternate Wednesdays.
